This course aims to promote a safe manual handling and people moving/handling culture to reflect current best practice and legislation. The successful completion of this course will enable the learners to provide the highest quality of care to service users. It also ensures compliance with relevant statutory requirements and standards and guidelines such as those published by the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) and Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA).
There are currently no prerequisites for this course. Students should be physically well enough to carry out tasks while training.
People/Patient Handling is an essential course for anyone working in the healthcare sector including carer assistants, home carers, nurses and volunteers.
The course comprises of theory and practical. There will be Theory Test and Practical Skills Demonstration as part of the assessment.

All courses are delivered by a qualified QQI Level 6 Instructor.
Certified by Edmart Training & Consultancy in line with the HAS guidelines after successful completion of manual handling training and assessments.
2 Years
This classroom based instructor led practical training is conducted in our training suite in Dublin 22. (Eircode D22 RD28).
The learners must undergo refresher training every two years and when there is any major change in the work involved or equipment used or when an employee is transferred to another setting requiring different people to be handled.
