This course will equip the learners with the knowledge and awareness of best practice in relation to the welfare of vulnerable adults in Ireland, including an overview of key legislation and national policies and a review of case studies to better understand how to safeguard vulnerable persons from being abused. At the completion of this course, the learners shall be able to recognise and respond to the signs of Elder Abuse thus be enabled to stop or prevent abuse. This course also teaches proper procedures for reporting suspicions or complaints of abuse.
All individuals working closely with vulnerable people including staff working in hospitals and residential care facilities. This course is in line with the Section 8- The Protection Standard of the National Quality Standards for Residential Care settings for older people in Ireland as published by HIQA (Health Information Quality Authority).
There will be a short exam as part of the assessment.

This classroom based instructor led practical training is conducted in our training suite in Dublin 22. (Eircode D22 RD28).
The learners must undergo refresher training every two years.
